Back to the Future
I recorded a conversation with my cousins (Diana and Luana) who are 7 years old. In our conversation, we made up stories from things they found around the room. They drew during the session, as the thoughts came to their minds. I then edited the 3 hour sound recording down to a 2 minute short narrative. The story reflects how a child’s mind works and how the plot often changes randomly in their chaotic imaginary world.
In the animation, I included myself, the narrator, on the other side of the phone. We meet in a place where everything is possible. There’s a door that takes me there, out of this reality, into the world they build.
